At ACE we care about the quality of your English pronunciation, since a better pronunciation will help you be more successful in your Summer Work and travel or Summer Camp.

Whether you are trying to perfect your English accent or just need help with the difficult parts of English pronunciation, this list of exercises will serve as your English pronunciation practice and the best thing is that they are easy and short.

1. Tongue twister exercises

Tongue twisters are tricky, but they can force you to better pronounce similar-sounding words so that each sentence is intelligible.

Here are some tongue twisters.

Peter Piper

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers

A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked

If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers

Where's the peck of pickled peppers that Peter Piper picked?

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear,

Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair,

Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't very fuzzy, was he?

Woodchuck

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, and chuck as much wood

As a woodchuck would if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

2.Vowel exercise

A vowel is the sound produced when the breath passes through the mouth without being blocked by the tongue, teeth, or lips. Vowels have many variations, including "long" and "short" sounds. Sometimes the vowels are completely silent, as in "ue" in the language.

When combined, vowels can create more confusion, such as when a double "o" in "cool" sounds like a long "u" or the "ei" in "vein" produces a long "a" sound similar to "lay." and "flat."

We recommend doing these morning vocal warm-ups.

  • TO like in bun
  • AND like in easy
  • like in the eye
  • EITHER like in further
  • OR like in in general

3. Mispronounced words worksheet

The following word worksheet is used by ESL students to perfect their pronunciation of commonly mispronounced words. We recommend practicing at least 15 minutes a day.
