The job fairs are approaching and we couldn't be more excited, the fairs mean a lot to everyone because it is where we go to meet our employers and they meet us, so we look forward to them. First, educate yourself about the job position you are interviewing for. Investigate and read all the information about it, what it is about; what the process is, and what qualifications they need from you. Being aware of the activities of the place and its processes helps you feel more confident about how you are going to answer those questions. If you know which skills they need most, make sure you have them all and are prepared to answer questions about them.

For example, if you know that you must have basic English in order to obtain a job in, say, the United States, it would be appropriate to prepare to answer basic questions in the English language. Second, try to have all the necessary documents for the interview, since you could go from being a candidate to just someone interested in the position or your interest in professional and personal development. For example, try to have any document they ask for for the interview with you. Doing so demonstrates organization and systematization in your list of things you must do during the day.

So:

  • Educate yourself about the workplace.
  • Be punctual.
  • Listen carefully.
  • Watch your body language as it says a lot about your personality.
  • Have a positive attitude and predisposition.
  • Speak what is necessary.
  • Show honesty and security.
  • Be yourself.
  • SMILE!

Many of us have had the unfortunate feeling that something went wrong in the interview we just had. While this feeling doesn't mean you won't get the job, there may be a way to avoid those harmful thoughts: by preparing for the interview. Handling information correctly is very important, try to avoid uncomfortable conversations with inaccurate information, sad details about certain situations or messages oriented only to the monetary part. In conclusion, pay attention to those small factors that can help you in your job interview. Enjoy the moment and always be yourself with a positive disposition and good attitude, employers love that because those are the things that give the biggest push.

Get ready! ¡Smile, put on your clothes comfortable and good luck!
